The creation of a
Standards Consultation Point, within the scope of the “Decentralized Network
for the Consultation of Portuguese and European Standards”, at the
Association’s headquarters, in Lisbon, and a 30% discount (over the catalog
value) on the sale of normative documents national and European, excluding
European documents that refer to International Standards, are some of the
advantages that AIP member SMEs now benefit from the signing of the Memorandum
of Understanding between the Portuguese Institute of Quality and the Portuguese
Industrial Association.
This Memorandum
aims to “increase the visibility and accessibility of the use of standards by
economic agents, particularly by SMEs”, namely by making the national
electronic normative collection available in a decentralized network for
consultation of Standards. For this purpose, the AIP made available a physical
space in which the associated SMEs can obtain, free of charge, all the
information on the rules relating to the identification of the Decentralized
Network for Consultation of Portuguese Standards, namely, the ways of using the
logo, contained in the Identity Manual; and also on the rules referring to
Intellectual Property rights, which include Industrial Property, Copyright and
Related Rights, which cover the Norms and normative documents.
The agreement
entered into force on the 6th of July and was signed by the presidents of both
institutions, respectively, João Miguel de Almeida Martinho Martins Pimentel,
and José Eduardo Carvalho. It is valid for three years, automatically renewable
for equal periods and takes effect from the date of its signature.
