The Leather Industries Technological Center (CTIC) will hold a Technological Exhibition, on July 25th, Thursday, at the Alcanena Multipurpose Pavilion, to showcase some of the most recent technological innovations and solutions that are transforming various sectors of activity that interact with the tanning industry. The presentations that will be made throughout the day will also provide a comprehensive overview of technological advances and their practical applications.
This CTIC initiative will be a suitable opportunity to interact with experts, exchange knowledge and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
The exhibition program foresees, as a complement, and integrated into the technological exhibition, the public presentation of the work “Finished Skins and Prototypes of the FW25/26 Collection”, developed within the scope of the PT Leather inDesign project.
CTIC supports innovation of regional economic leather and fabric manufacturers
An important “scientific arm” for the CTIC tanning sector, located in Alcanena, district of Santarém, its objective is to contribute to the innovation and competitiveness of the industry, particularly in the leather sector, but maintaining a strong connection to the regional economic fabric, in most varied sectors of activity, offering a comprehensive range of services, such as technical assistance, technological support in the development of new processes and products, R&DT, analytical control of products, certification and food safety systems, environmental sustainability and energy and professional training.
The brand targets the leather cluster industries and the regional economic fabric and offers a set of services to companies and other entities in different areas, namely: R&DT – Innovation and Technological Development; sustainability, environment and energy; laboratories; management, certification and standardization systems; food security; Industry 4.0, automation and digitalization; professional qualification; and studies and projects.
CTIC, which is certified by the Portuguese Institute of Accreditation, I.P. (IPAC) and the General Directorate of Employment and Labor Relations (DGERT), this year completes its 30th anniversary of activity (June 7, 1994, date of foundation), and its members include companies, Portuguese Association of Tanneries (APIC), IAPMEI and IPQ.
