AIP is a member of the Operational Body of the PORTUGAL SOU EU Program

The Portuguese Industrial Association is a member of the Operational Body of the PORTUGAL SOU EU Program, together with AEP, CAP, IAPMEI, CCP, APED and AHRESP.
This initiative, approved by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers no. 56/2011, aims to highlight the importance of valuing national production for the promotion of competitiveness and employment in national companies, particularly in small and medium-sized companies (SMEs). Order No. 10191/2016 of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of State and Commerce / Ministry of Economy, of 11 August, approves phase II of the “Portugal Sou Eu” Program, maintaining two basic principles: the dynamism and enhancement of offer with high national incorporation and the promotion of informed consumption.

 STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES 

The «Portugal Sou Eu» Program bet strongly and in concert on a strategy that allows, simultaneously, to increase the competitiveness of Portuguese companies and to encourage a greater incorporation of added value in national production.

It aims to reinforce the development of Portuguese companies, through the valorization of the national offer, based on an innovative collective strategy, capable of functioning as distinctive arguments for the economic recovery and promoting the competitiveness of the economic fabric. It seeks to increase national production by boosting the domestic market, also contributing to create conditions to increase the number of companies with the potential to export.

1. Stimulate the competitiveness of national companies;

2. Encourage production with added value in Portugal, contributing to the revitalization of the national productive fabric;

3. Foster a change in the attitude of consumers and companies by recognizing the values associated with the national origin of the products;

4. To stimulate the demand for goods and services that most contribute to the creation of value in Portugal, namely with regard to the creation of jobs and national wealth;

5. Ensure the articulation and coherence between public and private actions that fit these objectives.

 OPERATIONAL OBJECTIVES 

a) Increase the dissemination and notoriety of the «Portugal Sou Eu» brand and create conditions that allow consumers to make an informed choice, promoting the importance attributed by the Portuguese to the consumption of goods and services originating in Portugal;

b) Enhance the valorization of the national offer and highlight its differentiating characteristics as a competitive asset and a factor in affirming the country's identity and excellence, as well as stimulating a change in the attitude of consumers and companies, aiming at the recognition and valuing the national incorporation of national products and services;

c) To stimulate the demand for products and services that most contribute to the creation of value in Portugal, contributing to the sustainable recovery of economic growth;

d) Stimulate the national production of goods and services with added value, as a way to increase the competitiveness of national companies, especially SMEs, and job creation;

e) Explore synergies resulting from the meeting between companies and the establishment of supply chains.
