The exporter Olitrem – Indústria de Refrigeração S.A., with headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Tremês, Santarém, had its PME Leader status renewed by IAPMEI, which recognized the quality of its performance on the path to sustained growth, year after year.

The company, which is dedicated to the production, assistance and sale of refrigeration equipment for the hotel and healthcare sectors, exports to more than 30 countries on three continents and has 200 workers who carry out the activity in a production area equipped with 25 thousand square meters (in a property measuring 135,000 m²).

A family company now in its third generation and associated with AIP since 1991, Olitrem was born from Marecos Lda., a company founded by Armando Marecos Ferreira, on March 5, 1964, in the city of Luanda.

It manufactured and developed refrigeration equipment, namely commercial refrigeration, transport refrigeration and industrial refrigeration, reaching a large scale and prestige, still recognized today in that country. For sociopolitical reasons, there was a need to relocate to Portugal, in 1974, under the name Frio Marecos Lda., and to the city where it is currently located, Santarém.
