Law No. 50/2021, of July 30, determines the extension of bank moratoria until December 31, 2021.

The beneficiary entities covered by Decree-Law No. 10 -J/2020 benefit from the additional extension of these measures from October 1st to December 31st, 2021, exclusively with regard to the suspension of capital reimbursement, provided that they are counterparties to the following credit operations:

a) Mortgage credit, as well as the financial leasing of property intended for housing;

b) Credit to consumers, under the terms of Decree-Law No. 133/2009, of 2 June, in its current wording, for education, including for academic and professional training.

c) Operations contracted by beneficiary entities whose main activity is covered by the list of CAEs provided for in Decree-Law no. 10-J/2020 (in the wording introduced by Decree-Law no. 78-A/2020), such as: catering and similar, accommodation, travel agencies, tour operators, other reservation services and related activities, etc.

Entities wishing to benefit from this extension must notify the institutions of this fact within a minimum period of 20 days prior to the date of termination of the support measure they benefit from.

NOTE: The implementation of the measures established in this diploma is subject to the reactivation of the regulatory and supervisory framework established by the Guidelines EBA/GL/2020/02 of the European Banking Authority, of April 2, 2020.
