The Raxio group awarded NOV Engenharia e Construções Angola the construction contract for its new Data Center, in Luanda, for the value of 5 million dollars, with the global investment in the project being close to 20 million.
Located in Cacuaco, in the province of Luanda, this project to build the first Tier III Neutral Data Storage Center, in the Angolan capital.
The work, which is expected to be completed in June 2024, consists of carrying out all civil construction and infrastructure work for the administrative buildings and infrastructure entrance.
Dedicated to the construction, development and operation of data centers, the Raxio group has a presence in several African countries and is an important pan-African developer and operator of data centers. This project aims to move forward with the construction of a Data Center located in West Africa, Angola.
According to the president of Raxio's Executive Committee, Robert Mullins, the new data center, and the group's first in Angola, will allow the creation of around fifty direct jobs and boost, in the short term, Angola's digital growth . He also added that «Angola has a growing demand for connectivity and related services. It is also geographically positioned to become a connectivity hub in the region, making it an important market for our growing portfolio.”
The experience and know-how of the Angolan teams were certainly not indifferent when making the decision to award this contract. The NOV Group is an innovative, diversified group, operating in several international markets. The relevant works already completed, nationally and internationally, have had an important role in the award of several projects.
The signing of the contract and the laying of the first stone, which involved several official and business entities, took place on September 20th.
