At AIP, businesspeople learned about the business environment and investment opportunities in Tunisia
On February 13, 25
businesspeople from a wide range of sectors came to AIP to hear the Tunisian
ambassador to Portugal, Naoufel Hdia, the director of the Foreign Investment
Promotion Agency, Zied Lahbib, and the director of the Export Promotion Center,
Mohamed Ikbel Khaldi, present business and investment opportunities in that
Maghreb country. Rui Santos, CFO of the multinational Dual Borgastena, also
shared his experience in the group's recent investment in Tunisia.
With Jorge Pais,
vice-president of AIP, as host, the meeting aimed to provide a better
understanding of the Tunisian economy and the potential for potential
investments, and focused on presenting business opportunities in industrial
sectors such as pharmaceuticals, the automotive industry, textiles, renewable
energy and agri-food.
The participants in the
meeting were also informed that AIP is preparing a business mission to Tunisia
from 6 to 10 July, on the occasion of the International Agri-Food Fair
"IFSA International Food Show Africa 2025", which will include visits
to companies and previously scheduled B2B meetings. It should be noted that
there is considerable room for growth in bilateral trade, as Tunisia is
currently the 44th destination for Portuguese exports of goods, representing a
share of 0.2%, and ranks 66th among Portugal's supplier countries, with a share
of 0.05% of imports.
