Investing in R&D with the support of SIFIDE allows to obtain tax credit
The
deadline for applications to the Tax Incentive System for Business Research and
Development (SIFIDE) ends on May 31. It is a tax incentive that supports the
research and development effort, by deducting from the collection of the IRC a
percentage of the respective R&D expenses. All IRC taxpayers can apply as
long as the taxable profit is not determined by indirect methods, and they are
not indebted to the Tax Authority and Social Security. Research expenses cover
all internal and external activities carried out by the IRC taxpayer with a
view to acquiring new scientific or technical knowledge. Development expenses
include activities carried out by the IRC taxpayer through the exploitation of
results of research work or other scientific or technical knowledge with a view
to discovering or substantially improving raw materials, products, services or
manufacturing processes. Find out which expenses are eligible, financing rates
and which documents are required for the application. More information: consultoria@aip.pt or 21 360 10 20.
