Located in the heart of the Douro, near Lamego, the Hotel Rural Casa dos Viscondes da Várzea, a new member of AIP, is housed in a family property with a 19th century palace. XVIII and more than 180 hectares spread over vines, olive oil and fruit trees. You are all invited to cross the emblazoned gates of the farm where nature coexists with Romanesque and Gothic-Manueline styles in an atmosphere of genuine nobility.

Owned by the Agro Tourism Company Casa dos Viscondes da Várzea Lda. – based in Oeiras and managed by José Cyrne de Vasconcelos –, the manor is located in Várzea de Abrunhais, and was recently adapted into a charming hotel to better accommodate the pleasures of its guests.

The Hotel Rural Casa dos Viscondes da Várzea has been in operation for about nine years and has extensive experience in organizing events, such as weddings, baptisms, communions, birthday parties, themed parties, banquets, meetings, seminars, lectures, conferences, gala and business dinners.

Ideal for large private, corporate or institutional events, it has a 19th century palace. 18th century surrounded by French-style boxwood gardens, a large terrace on the facade and winter garden and secular trees.

It has its own chapel and a beautiful access staircase, centenary fountains, three large banqueting rooms and terraces with an enchanting view of the valley.

For the newlyweds and other lovers, there is a buggy pulled by two Lusitanian horses. There is also a mini-carriage, pulled by two ponies, to give and entertain the children.

A good table is guaranteed with the Portuguese regional cuisine. Meals are served with refinement in cozy, 18th-century rooms and traditional farmhouses, in a noble atmosphere.
