The team from the National Entity for the Energy Sector (ENSE) won first place in the 4th edition of the Challenge of the Portuguese Industrial Association – Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AIP-CCI), held on June 21st in the historic town of Alvaiázere, district of Leiria, teambuilding event that has been a success among AIP member companies and which this year featured an evening event for the first time. The companies Exumas Group and RocWork also took the podium, which ranked second and third.

The AIP Challenge included in a single day a multiplicity of activities that aimed to encourage, in a relaxed, convivial environment, the development of group spirit.

The usual AIP Olympics events were joined by new challenges designed to promote time management and leadership skills, thus contributing to the motivation of work teams away from their professional routines.

AIP chose Alvaiázere as the stage for this year's Challenge, not only known for being the capital of chícharo, but also for its mountains, trails and its famous panoramic swing.

The Alvaiázere Business Platform was the location chosen as the starting point of the event, to welcome and accredit the participating teams. And it was also in this space that João Paulo Guerreiro and José Eduardo Carvalho, presidents, respectively, of the Municipal Council of Alvaiázere and the AIP, welcomed the approximately 90 participants in the Challenge, praising the love for sports and fraternal coexistence between everyone.

After their presentation and the general briefing, the morning tests began, starting with a peddy paper around the town, which included some of the most important historical and representative landmarks of Alvaiázere.

The teams then moved to the Alvaiázere Municipal Stadium, where the AIP Olympics took place, with a prior warm-up guided by Paulo Guerra, one of the most notable Portuguese Olympic athletes. All teams competed in the disciplines provided for in the program: javelin throw; 100m speed test; relays 4x100m; and mid-distance 800m.

Once the morning program was over, it was time for lunch, served in Mata do Carrascal according to the dietary needs of the participants.

The afternoon events, which were also held in this peaceful haven of nature, included the climbing wall combined with the slide; archery target shooting; air bungee; minefield; and tire travel.

In municipal swimming pools, another infrastructure available near Mata do Carrascal, it was possible to carry out a test called ball hunting in the pool.

Returning to the municipal stadium, the teams competed in a duathlon: running combined with cycling.

The lunch, served at the Clube de Caçadores, preceded the next and final event of this year's challenge – night orienteering, in the mountains, an initiative carried out for the first time in the AIP Challenge.

The day ended with the awarding of prizes, the highlight of the event, after the classification of participants had been determined, and a well-deserved and desired supper, in the Club's dining room.

ENSE, which has already won two previous editions of the Challenge AIP, this year climbed to first place on the podium with a total of 294 points, followed by Exumas Group (255), and RocWork (240). Other classifications: Vigobloco 1, 4th (208); Vigoblock 2, 5th (204); AIP 2, 6th (199); AIP 1, 7th (154); AIP 3, 8th (151); FN Way, 9th (128); Avi-te, 10th (106); AECOA – Business Association of the Municipality of Oliveira de Azeméis, 11th (105); YoungNetwork Group, 12th (91); Bizdocs, 13th (86); Latourrette Consulting, 14th (38).
