Lena Agregados, a NOV Indústria Group company dedicated to the production of aggregates and bituminous products, submitted an application under the Recovery and Resilience Program (PRR). The Industry Decarbonization project for a Sustainable Aggregates Lena has now been approved by IAPMEI - Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation, I.P., with a total eligible cost of 1,899,473 euros and an implementation deadline of until the end of 2025. The investment will be the carried out at the Lena Agregados production center located in Fátima and its main objectives are to reduce the carbon footprint and incorporate energy from renewable sources. This project covers several of the main sources of energy consumption of the bituminous plant installed in that production center, aiming to change the primary energy consumption profile. Lena Agregados will install a Photovoltaic Plant for Self-Consumption (UPAC) that will produce electricity from a solar source, and which will be consumed by an electrical bituminous mixtures plant to be installed in the aforementioned production center. It will therefore be possible to increase the company's self-sufficiency in electrical energy and reduce its current consumption of natural gas.

The NOV Group intends to be at the forefront of this transition process, planning several projects that aim to achieve environmental sustainability in its companies over the next few years. The investment in this project to reduce the carbon footprint and minimize the environmental impact is yet another example of the commitment of Grupo NOV, and Lena Agregados, to promoting innovation and modernization of its processes. In addition to the production center in Fátima, the company also has facilities in Alenquer, Castelo Branco, Castelo Vide, Chamusca and Rio Maior. The NOV Indústria Group also includes the companies Lenobetão, Ecopaint, Viamarca and Equimetra.
