AIP receives visit from Panamanian Ambassador. Strengthening cooperation relations marked the meeting
On June 5, AIP received the Panamanian Ambassador to
Portugal, Jose Mulino Quintero, accompanied by the Embassy's First Counselor
and Economic Counselor. The Panamanian delegation was received by AIP Vice
President Jorge Pais and by Filomena Pires, Director of Internationalization,
Entrepreneurship and Business Cooperation. The meeting allowed for discussion
of cooperation opportunities between AIP and Panamanian entities, with emphasis
on the development of strategic partnerships and the possibility of formalizing
collaboration protocols. The meeting took place in an environment that
demonstrated the shared interest in strengthening economic and business
relations between Portugal and Panama. Panama's importance is evident: it is
the second largest economy in Central America. Supported by international trade
and services. The Panama Canal, the closest link between the Atlantic and
Pacific oceans, as well as the modern port infrastructure and the Colon Free
Zone, mean that the country moves around 5% of world trade.
